Malone Named Principal Of Christian County High School

Christian County High School’s Site-Based Decision Making Council convened with Superintendent Chris Bentzel Tuesday, and after consultation, unanimously affirmed Leigh Ellen Malone as their next principal.

She most recently served as the assistant principal for the school since 2014.

In a written statement, Bentzel said Malone’s dedication to the students and staff was and is evident, and there is no doubt as principal she will continue to strive for excellence. He called her “an exceptional leader dedicated to student success, with an unwavering commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.”

Malone has 21 years of experience in education, and began her teaching career in 2003 for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System at Northwest High School.

She then taught four years at Warren East High School in Bowling Green, followed by two years at Cumberland Heights Elementary in Clarksville, before transitioning to CCHS in 2010.

In 2013, she moved from the classroom to Building Assessment Coordinator and Instructional & Behavior Coach.

Malone said she was “honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading the dedicated staff and incredible students” at CCHS, and that she is “committed to working alongside teachers, parents, and community to support all students in achieving their highest potential.”

She is a graduate of Austin Peay State University, Western Kentucky University and Murray State University and holds two master’s degrees in education. She and her husband, Russell, live in Hopkinsville and have three children, Mason, Taylor and Avery.
