The Christian County Board of Education is accepting applications for the appointment to fill the District 1 vacancy on the school board.
The appointment will remain in effect until the November general election.
According to the school district, responsibilities for the position include setting policies for the district, hiring and evaluating the superintendent, and making decisions regarding taxes and the district budget.
Applicants must meet certain qualifications, including being at least 24 years old, a Kentucky citizen for the past three years, a registered voter in District 1, and have completed the 12th grade or obtained a GED certificate.
Applications can be picked up at the Christian County Board of Education Central Office.
The deadline for applications to be returned is close of business on Friday, May 10th.
