Hopkinsville Mayor J.R.Knight will announce his budget recommendations for the upcoming fiscal year during a press conference Friday morning at 9:00 at the City Municipal Building.
The address will also be streamed on the City’s YouTube page.
Knight’s budget recommendations will be considered by the Hopkinsville City Council Committee of the Whole before moving on to the full council for approval.
Last year’s budget was $48 million, which was an increase of around $6 million from 2022 and included a 6.5% pay raise for city employees.
Christian County Judge-executive Jerry Gilliam plans to make his budget address to fiscal court on May 10.
