Bobby Lewis Meacham Sr., 79, of Columbia, Tennessee

Funeral services for 79-year-old Bobby Lewis Meacham, Sr., of Columbia, Tennessee, and native of Hopkinsville, was held at noon July 3 at Heritage Funeral Home.

Visitation was held from 4-8 PM Tuesday, July 2, and again from 11 AM until the service hour Wednesday.

Survivors include:
His loving wife of 55 years, Diane Hargis Meacham;
Son, Bobby (Amy) Lewis Meacham, Jr., of Columbia, Tennessee;
Brothers, Randall (Karen) Meacham, of Hopkinsville, and Gary (Bertha) Meacham, of Lexington;
Brother-in-law, Randy (Dorothy) Hargis, of Bowling Green;
And granddaughter, Telina Meacham.

Pastor Mike Roberts and Tracy Lovell officiated.

He died Friday, June 28, 2024, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.

Also known as “Big Bob,” he was born in Hopkinsville July 30, 1944, and was the son of late Durwood Meacham and Ethel Waggner Meacham.

He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He worked for Maury County recycling center on Pulaski Highway for about 14 years and retired from General Motors after 25 years.

He enjoyed fishing, sports and collecting different items. He especially liked watching his son, “Little Bob,” succeed in sports. He cherished time spent with family.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Jimmy Cowan.
