Boyd Moore, 81, of Hopkinsville, KY passed away at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family and friends.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 15, 2024, at Living Hope Baptist Church (Eagle Way Campus) with Rev Darrell Crawford and Rev. Jacob Workman with burial to follow in Powell Cemetery in LaFayette, KY. Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
A native of LaFayette, KY he was born November 29, 1942, the son of the late Raymond and Gertrude “Bobbie” Moore. Boyd graduated from Christian County High School in 1961. Boyd worked at the Hopkinsville Clothing Co. and Frosty Morn in Clarksville, TN before going to work at United Parcel Service. He retired from UPS after 25 years of service in August of 2001.
Boyd was a member of Living Hope Baptist Church. He had also been a member and deacon at both Trinity Baptist Church and LaFayette Baptist Church.
Boyd loved the Lord and was a devoted Christian. Next to his Lord and Savior, Boyd loved his family and his favorite titles were Dad and Pa. He also loved to fish and play golf. Boyd loved people.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years: Rubye Moore; his daughter: Terri Moore Perry of Hopkinsville, KY; his son: Kevin Moore of Hopkinsville, KY; his sister: Mary Lou Moore Ellis of Hopkinsville, KY; his grandchildren: Tyler (Elizabeth) Perry, Jarod (Theresa) Perry, Wade Perry, and Jace Moore all of Hopkinsville, KY and Shelby (Matt) Hudson, Mackenzie Moore, and Wyatt Moore all of Nashville, TN; and his great-grandchildren: Ella Perry, Connor Perry, Georgia Perry, Millie Hudson, Jack Hudson, and Wren Hudson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Pennyroyal Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
