A man was found deceased in a wooded area off of Bell Street in Hopkinsville Saturday morning.
Hopkinsville Police say the man was found by the river deceased just after 11 a.m. but the cause of his death has not been determined.
The area was taped off by law enforcement as they collected evidence and work to recover the body of the man from the riverbank.
The body was reportedly noticed by people walking on the walking trail on the opposite side of the river and law enforcement was called.
Police say they have not been able to identify the man at this time.
The Christian County Coroner’s Office along with Christian County Rescue were called to help recover the body and pronounce the man deceased.
Police say the man’s body is being sent for an autopsy that will help identify him and determine the cause of death.
Bell Street is located off of West 7th Street.
