Black Patch Festival

The weekend kicks off with the Black Patch Parade at 5:00 pm on Friday, Sept 6th. If you would like to be in the parade, line up starts at Butler parking lot between 4:15 and 4:30. No sign up fee or entry fees. Vehicles must be “street legal” and operators must have a drivers license.  Following the parade, stop by BERRY SWEET for a delicious frozen yogurt AND a performance by the Other Mother Brothers!!  They will also perform Saturday evening a Black Patch!

Saturday is a full day in downtown Princeton with the Street Fair from 8am till 10pm which features a wide variety of booths with your favorite festival foods, games and activities.

Enjoy hay rides from downtown to the petting zoo, take a try at the mechanical bull, kids will love the inflatables and the duck pond. Don’t miss the American Legion Ladies Auxillary Unit #116 cake walk at 5pm, baked goods, homemade bread, and all your favorite festival finds!!

North Side Baptist Church will hold their “Run for Missions” 5k run/2 mile walk that starts at 7:30am, beginning at the Butler lawn. Call 365-6062 for more information.

Enjoy Art in the Park all day Saturday in the Big Springs Park sponsored by the Princeton Art Guild. Contact Michala at 270-963-1088 for booth information.

One of the highlights of the Black Patch Festival each year is the gospel concert held 
at the Princeton First Baptist Church, in the heart of downtown Princeton. Driven Quarter will perform the free concert from 6-8 Saturday night. Call Wes Curtis for more information at 270-625-3512. 
The Lakeland Cruisers of Western Kentucky will hold a Cruise-In Saturday from 4-8, sponsored by Farmers Bank and held at 111 W. Washington Street.  Streetrods, Antique, Classics, Late Model, Motorcycles and Trucks are all welcome.  Free registration from 4-6pm. Awards and 50/50 pot at 7pm. Door Prizes. Dash Plaques for the first 50.
Paducah Improv will hold a Black Patch Comedy theatre Saturday at the Capital Cinemas (with proceeds going to Save The Capital Cinamas) The 4:30 show is rated G and appropriate for all ages. The 7pm Show is rated R and appropriate for those 18 and older (no one under 18 will be admitted). There will be a PG movie playing at the same time with supervision provided. Ticket cost $10 for adults, $5 for children.
