Christian County Student Honored For Art Work

A Christian County High School student is being honored for artwork she submitted in the annual Congressional Art Contest for 2014. According to a release from Congressman Ed Whitfield’s office, due to the overwhelming response during the two weeks these entries were featured on Facebook, and the response given to one particular entry, which received a total of 222 likes, Congressman Whitfield has decided to give the first “People’s Choice Award.”

The winner of the award is Brianna Cottrell, from Hopkinsville, who won the award for her pencil drawing “387-Gone but Never Forgotten.” Cottrell is a junior at Christian County High School and is the daughter of Jackie Cottrell. Cottrell’s work will hang in Whitfield’s Washington, D.C. office, along with the second place winner of the overall Congressional Art Contest.
