• As many as 400 youngsters and parents are expected to attend the 10th annual Christmas at the Bend event on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Jeffers Bend Environmental Center in Hopkinsville. The event will take place from 11:00 am -1:00 pm, with focus on family fun through various activities.

• The 11:00 am –1:00 pm event, will entail refreshments to include homemade cookies, hot chocolate and hot apple cider. After partaking of the refreshments, families will have the opportunity to make Christmas Cards for Nursing Homes, interact with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, participate in recycling crafts, how to feed birds in the winter, play prize winning games for kids, and listen to firemen and police officers talk about safety, particularly during the holiday months.

• The event is sponsored by the Jeffers Bend Steering Committee, in cooperation with the Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) Area Council, Inc., Hopkinsville Water Environment Authority, City of Hopkinsville, Truist Bank, Randy Arnold and Family, Jennie Stuart Medical Center, and Walmart Distribution Center. Diane Croney Turner, chairperson for event, anticipate a much larger crowd than 2019, with increased numbers from not only Christian, but adjoining counties in Kentucky and Tennessee. Note, the event was not held in 2020 – 2021 due to COVID pandemic.

• The low admission fee of $5.00 per car, $10.00 per bus up to 15 passengers, and $15.00 for 16 and above, is designed to accommodate all families. The entrance fee, covers all costs, except the photo with Santa in his workshop, which will be $5.00. In appreciation for the services of military families and first responders, there is no entrance fee.
