CYNTHIA (CINDY) ALLEN LAX

Email:   callen@wkdzradio.com

I was born and raised in Caldwell County, and I graduated from Caldwell County High School in 1974.  I moved to Trigg County in the summer of '74.  I am celebrating 15 years, in April 2008, with Ham Broadcasting Company.  I am Senior Account Executive for the sales team of WKDZ/WHVO, and I co-host the Country Club with Alan Watts (I'm the Allen half of Alan & Allen) heard weekday mornings 6:00 to 9:00 on WKDZ 106.FM.

I became a part of Alan and Allen purely by accident.  Early in my career with WKDZ, we had a need for a designated place on the air to share community events and meetings.  I went to Save On Drugs and asked if they would sponsor "What's Happening" during the noon news.  They were quick to jump on (and are still a sponsor of that today).  For several months, I recorded this and it was played at noon.  It was successful, and it was decided we should add this to the Country Club (morning show).  Alan Watts, asked if I would come in and do it live to introduce it.  I agreed to do it just for a few days. Well about 10 years later, I still do "What's Happening" in the Country Club (sponsored by Broadbent Foods and Gifts and Bank of Cadiz and Trust Company).  So many things have changed during my 15 years, but one thing hasn't...that's my love for our communities and the services that provide our listeners.  I love helping keep you informed and hopefully entertained.

I am the proud mom of two beautiful daughters and now I'm one of those crazy grandmas (better known as "CC").  My oldest daughter Jessica lives in Hopkinsville and is now a stay at home mom with my granddaughter, Ryan Bailey Grace Fuller.  Ryan was born August 31, 2007, and is a joy to the whole family!  My youngest daughter, Chelsey Redd, and her husband, Paxton, live in Campbellsville, Kentucky.  They are expecting their first child in Oct 2008.  They will both graduate from Campbellsville University in May.  Chelsey plans to be an elementary teacher.  Paxton is an ordained Baptist minister. He is currently the youth minister at Robinson Creek Baptist Church in Campbellsville. He will be attending seminary in Louisville following graduation.

Last, but not least, is my wonderful husband, Kerry Lax.  Kerry and I knew each other at Caldwell County High School and reconnected after 30 years in 2004.  Kerry has opened a whole new world to me which includes fishing, camping, and hunting.  And yes, I enjoy them all!  Kerry has been employed with Kuttawa Plastics for almost 30 years.

I enjoy serving the community and am involved in several fundraisers such as Relay for Life and Helping Hands.
