Currahee Final Return Home Marked Sunday

The final group of 4th Brigade Combat Team soldiers is home and the flight, which returned Sunday morning, carried a large legacy as its cargo. The famed Band of Brother's unit returned home around 4:00 am to a loud crowd of family and friends. 2nd of the 506th Infantry Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Scott Kirkpatrick says it always humbling to return to Fort Campbell, but this instance is also a bittersweet one.

The battalions of the 506th Infantry Regiment will be transferred to other Brigades at Fort Campbell later this spring after the 4th Brigade Combat Team is inactivated, which is expected to happen in the April/May timeframe.  105 soldiers were on the flight Sunday.  Click here for pictures from the Welcome Home Ceremony.
