Old Dover Road Home Destroyed By Fire

Three Trigg County fire departments were called to a house fire on Old Dover Road Thursday morning. Trigg County Emergency Management Director David Bryant says firefighters were called to 4220 Old Dover Road around 11:15am for the report of an air conditioner on fire, but the home was fully involved when fire fighters arrived.

Bryant says this fire is a great example of the need for more volunteer fire fighters.

No one was injured in the fire. Ronnie Weeks and Casey Hyde lived at the home owned by Scott Bridges. It was the former home of the late Tom and Nella Gentry.

Consignment World in Cadiz is collecting items for the family, who lost everything in the fire. They are in need of women's clothes - size 6 pants/shorts, medium shirts, and size 9 shoes; men's clothes - size large or x-large shirts, 38x32 pants, and size 10 shoes; girls' small shirts, size 7 pants, and size 13 shoes.
