Threat Still Exists For 2014 Wheat Crop

Although the 2014 wheat yields were better than expected, there could still be some threat to the crop that is stored in the grain bin. Christian County Agriculture Extension Agent Jay Stone says vomitoxin did cause some problems with the 2014 wheat crop.

Stone says vomitoxin could cause some problems with wheat being stored in the bin.

Despite the threat of vomitoxin, Stone says wheat yeilds turned out better than many farmers expected.

Many farmers worried the crop would suffer major damage due to extremely cold weather that lasted late into the winter season.
