Toree Rogers Named New Trigg County Softball Coach
Trigg County has named Toree Rogers the new head coach of the high school softball team.
Rogers is a 2009 graduate of Calloway County High School and played at Murray State University before an injury ended her career.
She takes over for Billy Fortner, who resigned after a 7-20 record in his only season as head coach.
Rogers becomes the fourth coach in as many seasons for the Lady Wildcats. The previous three coaches were a combined 20-52.
She also assumes command of a program that has never advanced to the region tournament since the KHSAA switched to fast pitch in 1995. However, Trigg County has won 16 games the past two seasons after winning 17 games the previous seven seasons.
Rogers is getting a first hand view of the future talent by assisting Michele Glass with the Trigg County Middle School program.
