Two men face drug charges following their arrests Friday in Lyon County by Kentucky State Police. According to the report, a traffic stop was conducted for a registration violation at the 45-mile marker. During the course of the stop, the driver 30-year old Justin Stelter, of Grand Junction, Colorado, admitted to having a small amount of marijuana, which he had allegedly obtained in Colorado, claiming to be from a medical prescription.

During the search of the vehicle, a safe was discovered in the trunk containing 10.5-ounces of hydroponic marijuana. Stelter was arrested and charged with Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, No Insurance and Improper Registration. He was taken and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. A passenger in the vehicle, Matthew Barnes, of Cedar Bluff, Alabama, was cited to court on charges of 3rd Degree Possession of Controlled Substance and Controlled Substance Not in a Proper Container.
