Friends and co-workers stopped by Lake Barkley State Resort Park Friday evening to honor Land Between The Lakes Area Supervisor Bill Lisowsky and his wife Paula, who are both retiring.  Bill's 35 year career with the U S Forest Service comes to a close December 31st, while his wife Paula retired from the Janice Mason Art Museum November 30th.

Wreaths Across America At Ky Veterans Cemetery West

Holiday Wreaths are adorning the more than 17-hundred graves at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville following the annual Wreaths Across America service Saturday December 15th.  Featured speaker for the event was Lt Colonel Larry Dillard, Commander of the 101st Airborne Division, 4th Brigade Combat Team.

Four Killed In Rockcastle Road Accident

Seize The Keys Winner

General Motors officials were in Hopkinsville Friday, at Patriot Chevrolet, to hand over the keys of a brand new Camaro to a Fort Campbell soldier, who was the winner of their Seize the Keys contest. PFC Michael Carroll is one of the winners in the contest, which is for members of the Armed Forces. WKDZ's Michael Davis was LIVE from 1:00pm until 3:00pm.

Helping Hands Food Drive

Thanks to your efforts, more than $3,150 was raised during the Helping Hands Food Drive at Hancock's Neighborhood Market on Thursday. The money raised will help to provide more than half a month of food for the Helping Hands Food Bank. Thanks to everyone for making this a huge success! 

Christian County Cares 2015 Festival of Trees Kickoff

Nearly fifty ornately decorated trees will remain on display through next weekend at the A. W. Watts Seniors Center in Hopkinsville.  The event kicked off Thursday December 6th with a Toy drive and a Chamber After Hours.

The 11th Annual Turkey Trot took place November 22 in downtown Hopkinsville and more than 500 runners, walkers, bikers and kids in strollers packed Founders Squareand then South Main Street between 9th and 10th for the roughly three-mile event.

Kentucky Proud Farm To Table Events Kick Off In Hopkinsville

A large crowd packed Harper House in downtown Hopkinsville for an invitation only Farm to Table Dinner to spotlight the Kentucky Proud Program.  The event was hosted by Commissioner of Agriculture James Comer and Virginia Gray with the Trilogy Center.  The menu featured all Kentucky Proud Products, many of which were purchased locally.

14th Annual Trigg Toys For Tots Trail Ride A Success

Approximately riders and horses were a part of the 14th Annual Gordon and Martha Mitchell Toys for Tots Trail Ride that took place Sunday October 23rd at the John Mark Vinson Farm.  The ride was led by their daughter Megan Mitchell and her friends.  See if you recognize some of those participating in the ride.

A large crowd turned out in Pembroke Saturday October 20th for the first Harvest Festival.  More than fifty vendors offered visitors food, crafts and other items.

The 2012 West Kentucky Antique Power Associations Plow Day drew a large crowd to Garnett Farms off Highway 1027 Saturday.  Nearly 65 tractors and five teams of mules and horses broke more than 160 acres of farm land.

Christian County Democrat Rally At Virginia Park

Ft Campbell: Female Body Armor Testing For 1st Brigade Combat Team

19 women with the 1st Brigade Combat Team, who will be deploying to Afghanistan in the next few months to serve as a liason with Afghan women, have been testing generation 3 body armor for the past several weeks.  The Female Engagement Team is the first group of women in the army to test the new gear, which is specifically designed to fit women better.

Groundbreaking For New Municipal Building

KY Supreme Court Hears Kevin Dunlap Appeal Arguments

Six Kentucky Supreme Court Justices listened and questioned attorneys Thursday, August 16, in connection to murderer Kevin Wayne Dunlap's appeal. Dunlap is facing death in connection to the deaths of three children in Trigg County in 2008.

Mini Golf

The first opening day at Christian Way Mini Golf was a huge success. The Chamber came out at 11am and the ribbon was officially cut. Free refreshments were served all day. Christian Way Mini Golf is located on Christian Way Farm off Greenville Road in Hopkinsville and has officially been described as one of the nicest mini golf courses in Western Kentucky!

The 2012 Trigg County Public Schools Gala of Tables to welcome teachers and staff back to the schools was held August 8 at the Trigg County Wildcat Cafeteria.  The event was co-hosted by the National Guard and the school system with over 50 table sponsors turning out to support the schools.

What a great time at the Bruce Convention Center tonight with Brice Long and Friends/Songwriters Terry McBride, John Wiggins, Keith Stegall and Clare Dunn. It was fun to hear the stories behind the hit songs they wrote, and we heard a few songs they are hoping to be hits. Brice said the crowd was the biggest they had ever had - thanks to everyone who came out tonight to make this night a huge success.

Cadiz Restaurant Damaged

No one was injured Tuesday morning in a two vehicle accident that resulted in damage to the Cadiz Restaurant. One of the vehicles ended up entering the front foyer, but did not reach the front door. Hospital Week

 WKDZ 106.5FM was on location Tuesday, May 8, at Trigg County Hospital to help celebrate Hospital Week. The theme for the week is “Trigg County Hospital is hooked on quality healthcare”. A variety of services were offered to the public including free blood pressure checks, blood sugar test and strength tests.  The new ambulance arrived during the remote. The ambulance for be christened Wednesday at 11:30 and added to the ambulance fleet.

Trigg County Relay Survivor's Dinner

The Trigg County Relay For Life Survivor’s Dinner was held Tuesday evening. The featured guest speaker was Dr. Maria Frexes, an oncological surgeon who has touched, and saved the lives of many women in this area. We took these pictures as the evening was getting underway.

Cadiz Baptist Christian Academy Trike-a-thon

The Cadiz Baptist Christian Academy four-year old Pre-School class of Mrs. Linda Rhudy and Mrs. Maria Playmale raised more than one-thousand 400 dollars for St. Judes Children's Hospital.  Mrs. Rhudy says her classes have raised more than 14-thousand dollars through Trike-a-thons over the past 10 years.

227th Quartermaster Company Returns Home

After a year long deployment to Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait, 65 soldiers with the 227th Quartermaster Company, 129th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division returned to Fort Campbell.

Great Horned Owl Released At Mt Zion Church

Several friends, family members and wildlife enthusiast were on hand Thursday evening as a Great Horned Owl named Mary Hulet, in honor of Broadbent Wildlife Sanctuary founder Mary Ann Tobin's mother Mary Hewlett Broadbent, was released after rehabilitation.  The owl was found injured near Mt. Zion United Methodist Church on Cerulean Road in late December.

Transportation Cabinet crews are performing maintenance work on the remaining spans of the Eggners Ferry Bridge, in an attempt to get routine maintenance work completed before the arrival of the contractor who will build the new span to replace a 322-foot section knocked out by the Delta Mariner. 716th Military Police Complete LETS

Soldiers with the 716th MP Battalion wrapped up their LETS training with a pepper spray exercise. A couple dozen soldiers had to qualify or requalify through the pepper spray training.

Fire Causes Major Damage to Downtown Cadiz Building

A fire that was reported around 2:00 Thursday morning caused major damage to a building on Main Street in downtown Cadiz. The building, owned by David Chesnut, houses the Rabbit Hole Cafe, Oh My Antiques, Impressions Hair Salon and three upstairs apartments. 4th Brigade Combat Team Soldiers Work to Earn EIBs

High Water Rescue

Law enforcement and resuce officials responded to Old Hopkinsville Road in Trigg County Wednesday morning. A woman drove into high water and needed assistance toescape her vehicle. The News Edge took these pictures of the rescue of the woman and her dog.

Storm Damage In Muhlenberg County

Severe thunderstorms rumbled across the region Wednesday morning packing large hail, strong winds, very heavy rain, and reports of possible tornadoes. Some of the more extensive damage occurred in Muhlenberg County, where there was roof damage to South Muhlenberg Middle School. 426th BSB Service and Recovery Training

A group of soldiers with Bravo Company, 426th Brigade Support Battalion are preparing for a possible deployment to Afghanistan and the training includes learning to recover overturned vehicles.  The News Edge was invited to tag along and snapped a few pictures of the day.

Bridge Structure May Be Shifting
