Friends and co-workers stopped by Lake Barkley State Resort Park Friday evening to honor Land Between The Lakes Area Supervisor Bill Lisowsky and his wife Paula, who are both retiring.  Bill's 35 year career with the U S Forest Service comes to a close December 31st, while his wife Paula retired from the Janice Mason Art Museum November 30th.

Wreaths Across America At Ky Veterans Cemetery West


Holiday Wreaths are adorning the more than 17-hundred graves at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville following the annual Wreaths Across America service Saturday December 15th.  Featured speaker for the event was Lt Colonel Larry Dillard, Commander of the 101st Airborne Division, 4th Brigade Combat Team.

Four Killed In Rockcastle Road Accident


Four Trigg County residents were killed in an accident involving a passenger van and a tractor on Rockcastle Road, about a mile north of the intersection with Business 68. The News Edge reported LIVE from the scene. 

Seize The Keys Winner


General Motors officials were in Hopkinsville Friday, at Patriot Chevrolet, to hand over the keys of a brand new Camaro to a Fort Campbell soldier, who was the winner of their Seize the Keys contest. PFC Michael Carroll is one of the winners in the contest, which is for members of the Armed Forces. WKDZ's Michael Davis was LIVE from 1:00pm until 3:00pm.

Helping Hands Food Drive


Thanks to your efforts, more than $3,150 was raised during the Helping Hands Food Drive at Hancock's Neighborhood Market on Thursday. The money raised will help to provide more than half a month of food for the Helping Hands Food Bank. Thanks to everyone for making this a huge success! 

Christian County Cares 2015 Festival of Trees Kickoff


Nearly fifty ornately decorated trees will remain on display through next weekend at the A. W. Watts Seniors Center in Hopkinsville.  The event kicked off Thursday December 6th with a Toy drive and a Chamber After Hours.

11th Annual Turkey Trot



The 11th Annual Turkey Trot took place November 22 in downtown Hopkinsville and more than 500 runners, walkers, bikers and kids in strollers packed Founders Squareand then South Main Street between 9th and 10th for the roughly three-mile event.

Christian County Farm Bureau saluted state and local legislators during the annual Legislative Appreciation Dinner at Oakland Manor Monday November 12th.  Among those on hand were First District Congressman Ed Whitfield's District Director Mike Pape, State Representatives Myron Dossett, John Tilley and Brent Yonts, Christian Judge Executive Steve Tribble, Sheriff Livy Leavell and five Christian County Magistrates.

Kentucky Proud Farm To Table Events Kick Off In Hopkinsville


A large crowd packed Harper House in downtown Hopkinsville for an invitation only Farm to Table Dinner to spotlight the Kentucky Proud Program.  The event was hosted by Commissioner of Agriculture James Comer and Virginia Gray with the Trilogy Center.  The menu featured all Kentucky Proud Products, many of which were purchased locally.

14th Annual Trigg Toys For Tots Trail Ride A Success


Approximately riders and horses were a part of the 14th Annual Gordon and Martha Mitchell Toys for Tots Trail Ride that took place Sunday October 23rd at the John Mark Vinson Farm.  The ride was led by their daughter Megan Mitchell and her friends.  See if you recognize some of those participating in the ride.

2012 Pembroke Harvest Fest A Success


A large crowd turned out in Pembroke Saturday October 20th for the first Harvest Festival.  More than fifty vendors offered visitors food, crafts and other items.

Breast Cancer Awareness Walk


Several dedicated people (around 40) came out Friday for the first ever Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Perdue Field, sponsored by Trigg County Hospital. Young and old, male and female, even Mrs. Trigg County and a four-legged friend braved the cold for a good cause.

Making of a Master at JMAM


The newest exhibit at the Janice Mason Art Museum, "Making of a Master," is now open. Cindy Allen Lax took these pictures, but encourages you to go experience for yourself. It's an interactive exhibit featuring some famous people you will know (like Eddie Pennington) and some could-be famous artist from a recent art class at the museum. You just have to see it for yourself!

There was a great crowd at the Cadiz Baptist Church Annex early this morning to kick off the 2012 Trigg County Country Ham Festival. Christian County Weather Spotters are continuing to work to upgrade equipment and training to help protect citizens from the surprises of mother nature. Weather spotters opened the doors of their operations center on Margaret Place Saturday afternoon to show off their new combined radar-satellite imaging system. 600 Participate In Hopkinsville Walk To End Alzheimers


More than 600 people made up more than 40 teams that combined efforts to raise an estimated 50-thousand dollars during the 2012 second annual Walk to End Alzheimers at the Christian County Justice Center.  Drew Wilson with Oldies Radio 96.5 and 100.9 was on hand to broadcast from the event.

Pride Of The Pennyrile Golf/Boating Event

Governor Steve Beshear visited the center and announced a $250,000 Community Development Block Grant to continue to help fund the facility’s operational costs.
