Christian County Weather Spotters will be able to complete some needed computer upgrades thanks to donations that were received during Saturday's Open House.
Christian County Weather Coordinator David Powell estimated they received around three thousand dollars in donations, with upwards of 30 people attending the event. Weather Coordinator David Powell and others gave tours of the operations center and discussed the mission of the weather spotters and the technology they use to protect citizens.
Powell says support from Saturday's event will allow the purchase of additional computers to help speed up the operation and function of radar and other computer programs at the Weather Operations Center.
In addition to learning about the weather spotters, the crowd of more than 30 people were entertained by Ventriloquist Joe Boley and enjoyed hot dogs and other snacks.
