Two Accidents in Hopkinsville Friday

Hopkinsville Police say two people were taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center from two separate accidents Friday. Reports say 57-year old Nancy Gilbert, of Hopkinsville, was taken by private vehicle to the hospital after another vehicle rear-ended her and she collided with the vehicle in front of her. Gilbert was stopped behind another vehicle at the intersection of 7th and North Drive when she was hit from behind by a car driven by 18-year old Monica Jones, of Hopkinsville. Reports say Jones told police the car slid on the wet pavement.

Meanwhile across town a few short hours later 73-year old Carole Fletcher, of Hopkinsville, was taken to Jennie Stuart after she turned in front of a truck on Fort Campbell Boulevard. Reports say Fletcher was attempting to turn onto Fidelio Road but her view was blocked by a semi across the road. Fletcher went ahead and pulled out and was hit broadside by a truck driven by 20-year old Aaron Weller, of Pembroke.
