Volunteer Work Day
What a difference 200 volunteers can make in one day! Volunteers showed up at Lake Barkley State Resort Park at 8 AM to begin painting, removing rotten wood, weed eating, planting, cleaning and working on anything else that needed attention. By noon, LBSRP had started to shine, and the volunteers were only half finished. By the end of the day, it was amazing! Thanks to everyone that came out and made a difference in our community.

Moonshiners
We got our "shine on" at Herb Hays Furniture on Saturday. Bill Booth, Cindy Allen Lax and lots of people came out to see the Moonshiners and to take advantage of great deals at Herb Hays Furniture.

Pass It On Grand Finale
Pass it On ended with the presentation of a gazebo designed by Lori Ricks' engineering students and built by Jodi P'Pool's Trigg County FFA students. Over 200 people participated in Pass It On Saturday, and the work that was done is phenomenal. The lodge is also now sporting 50 new rocking chairs donated by area residents and businesses. Hamburger Hill Observance
Forty-four years ago men of the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment were fighting one of the most intense battles of the Vietnam War. Wednesday, Golden Rakkasans and current soldiers took time to remember the 11 day fire storm. The News Edge was there and took these pictures.

Rotary Auction - Final Night
Genesis Express served delicious fish and presented a check to the auction as did Trigg Couny Schools to help reach our goal of $200,000 this year - final totals will be announced Monday. Lots of great items were sold and a packed house was on hand to make it a perfect night. Thanks to everyone that helped make this week a huge success for the High School Seniors and the Senior Citizens of Trigg County.

Lake Barkley State Resort Park hosted the Cadiz Rotary Radio "WJ Hopson" Annual Kick-Off Breakfast Monday with the Trigg County High School Jazz Band providing special entertainment. The Keynote speakers of this year's event, HK Derryberry and Jim Bradford were an inspiration to every single person in attendance. HK, who is blind and has cerebral palsy, has the amazing ability to remember every single detail of his life, and was befriended my Mr. Bradford while he was waiting at the restaurant where his grandmother worked. Their story is fascinating.........if you weren't able to attend the breakfast, you should ask someone who did.

FORT CAMPBELL: 4th Brigade Combat Team Cases Colors
Once again, the 4th Brigade Combat Team, Currahee, cased its colors in preparation for deployment to Afghanistan. Soldiers are tasked with training the Afghan military to be self-sufficient and Currahee Commander, Colonel Val Keaveny is confident in their abilities. The 506th Infantry Regiment also conducted a Distinguished and Honorary Member of the Regiment induction.

Triple Fatality Crash On I-24

Senators Stan Humphries and Whitney Westerfield officially joined the Kentucky Senate Tuesday January 8th when they joined thirty-six other State Senators and 100 House members in taking the oath office administered by Kentucky Supreme Court Chief Justice John Minton. Eagle Cruise on the CQ Princess
WKDZ's Country Club duo took to the water today aboard the CQ Princess yacht. A total of 29 eagles (mostly mature bald eagles) and 1 golden eagle was sighted. The event was hosted by Ky Dam Village and Kenlake State Resort Park.
