The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is looking to the future and asking for input from the general public about the direction in which it should head. In determining the transportation needs for all areas of Kentucky over the next two decades, the updated plan will consider changes in communities, freight movement, financial resources, economic development, rural and urban transportation, the environment and other transportation issues that are impacting you.
Spokesman Keith Todd says the Cabinet is working on its long range plan, which looks ahead to 2035, and a survey will be circulated starting January 9th, allowing the public to weigh in on the issues. The survey, which will also be available online at yourturn.transportation.ky.gov, will be available in paper form at the highway district offices, local area development district offices, or by phone at 502-564-3419.
Transportation Cabinet Secretary Mike Hancock says "a strong transportation system is vital to a strong economy and key to maintaining a high quality of life for Kentucky residents and those who travel through the state," adding this long-range plan is the perfect way to establish a focus for the next two decades.
