One local church has announced that starting Friday they will be opening their doors for daily shelter services. Reverend Emmanuel Luther and Hopkinsville Mayor Dan Kemp announced Thursday that Freeman Chapel CME Church, on South Virginia Street, will begin offering shelter services during daytime hours, from Friday through the cold weather season, and into the spring. Mayor Kemp says the idea came about because local churches saw a need in the community.
Kemp says the City is really grateful for the service that Freeman Chapel CME is providing for Hopkinsville.
The shelter will be open from 9 to 5 on weekdays, and will offer restroom facilities, a television, and refreshments
