Local Option Election In Lyon County

Lyon County voters will decide Tuesday if alcohol can be legally sold in Eddyville and the county as a whole. Although liquor by the drink can be sold in Kuttawa, a "Yes" vote Tuesday will mean three package liquor licenses will be available.

In addition, an unlimited number of wine by the drink licenses will be available for restaurants that seat at least 50 people, and derive 50 percent of their revenue from food sales. The same restaurants, along with convenience stores with at least 5,000-dollars worth of inventory, can apply for a retail beer license.
