Traffic is back to normal on the Pennyrile Parkway, north of Hanson, after being shut down for several hours Monday following a fire that involved a tanker truck carrying hydrochloric acid. State Police say the fire occurred around 6:00am, near the 53-mile marker, north of the Hanson exit. According to the report, 52-year old Christopher Reynolds, of Corydon, Kentucky, was southbound when the trailer caught fire.
Reynolds was able to disconnect the cab from the trailer. The road was closed while fire departments and hazmat crews cleared the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.
