State Supreme Court Justice Stepping Down

A Justice on the Kentucky State Supreme Court is stepping down due to health reasons. The Court says Justice Wil Schroder has a brain tumor and will retire from his position. The announcement said the 66-year old Schroder, who is from Fort Mitchell, wanted to focus on his health and spend more time with family.

He was elected to the Supreme Court in 2006 for the 6th District. Officials say Governor Beshear will appoint a replacement after receiving a recommendation from the judicial nominating commission.
