Trigg Magistrates Okay Hospital Project

Trigg County Fiscal Court is behind the 7.5 million dollar Trigg County Hospital Expansion, as long as the low bidder receives the contract.
Magistrates voted unanimously Thursday night to approve the ordinance that will allow the proposed surgical wing to be constructed at the hospital. County Attorney Randy Braboy says the ordinance differs from the original ordinance because of the requirement to accept the low bid.

When asked if that means the project must be rebid before it can proceed, Braboy said that will be the decision of the two entities in charge of the project.

The project must gain approval from Cadiz City Council before the Hospital Board and Finance Corporation can move forward.
In other business Hospital Administrator Alisa Coleman presented the annual report, with Chief Financial Officer Diana Phillips discussing the 2013 financial statement. Coleman says the hospital had a positve net income of 585-thousand 274 dollars in 2011-2012, which is an improvement of more than 417-thousand dollars compared to 2010-2011.
Magistrates unanimously approved a resolution in support of the resolution of issues with the State Medicaid Management Program that is costing the Pennyrile District Health Department nearly 400-thousand dollars in revenue.
Magistrates approved the hiring of Beth Taylor as the Trigg County Finance Officer and Fiscal Court Clerk. She fills the role formerly held by Ruth Anne Mitchell, who retired December 31st.
Magistrates gave their stamp of approval to the 2012 Trigg County Sheriff's settlement and deputy salary cap that were presented by Fay Godair.
Fiscal Court approved the appointment of Bailey Oliver and Jo Ann Harvey to the Trigg County Extension Board. And they approved the reappointment of the current members of the Cadiz-Trigg County Tourism Commission.
