Man Pleads To Solicitation Of Murder Charge

The man accused of offering a woman 1000-dollars to deliver a man he wanted to kill will be sentenced in April after pleading guilty in Christian Circuit Court Wednesday morning. 28-year old Steven Mayton admitted to Circuit Judge John Atkins that he did offer Jennifer Mann money to lure Richard Anderson to a designated location, so he could murder him. Mayton is facing 11 years in prison on the solicitation of murder charge, 12 months for terroristic threatening and 90 days for harassment, for a total of 11 years.

Judge Atkins did order the charges to be served consecutive to a five year sentence from 2008, which had been probated for five years. Mayton is scheduled for formal sentencing April 9th and officials expect his probation revocation hearing to be held that morning as well.
