Fourteen Killed In Highway Accidents



State Police say 14 people died in 13 separate crashes on Kentucky highways last week. A double-fatality, motor vehicle crash occurred in Owen County. Single-fatality crashes occurred in Carter, Casey, Daviess, Garrard, Hopkins, Jessamine, Livingston, Magoffin, Oldham, Pike and Rockcastle County.

The victims in Casey, Garrard, Magoffin, Pike and Rockcastle counties were not wearing seat belts. The crashes in Casey, Jessamine, Livingston, Oldham and Rockcastle counties involved the suspected use of alcohol. One pedestrian was killed in Jefferson County.

Through February 24th, 73 people have lost their lives on Kentucky roadways during 2013. This is 26 less than reported for the same time period in 2012.
