Hopkinsville Woman Charged With Manslaughter

The mother of a 6-year old girl killed in an accident near Martin Luther King Elementary School, in January, has been charged in connection with the crash. Reports say 30-year old Amber Adams, also known as Amber Coleman, was served with a summons Thursday, charging her with 2nd Degree Manslaughter.

It was back on January 15th, Brooklyn Coleman was killed when the vehicle she was riding in struck a bridge on Martin Luther King Jr. Way. Initially it was reported that the little girl had been ejected from the vehicle but she was later found in the vehicle.

A passenger in the vehicle, 30-year old Brian Baker reportedly told police that he was wearing a seatbelt and Coleman had been in a booster seat but no seat was found on the scene. The accident reports says the vehicle was being driven too fast for the conditions, and that the road was slippery with ice.
