Three Arrested On Meth Related Charges

Three Christian County men face meth related charges following their arrest by the Christian County Sheriffs Department. According to the report, deputies were on patrol early Tuesday morning, when they detected a strong odor of ether and anhydrous ammonia coming from the area of the old KFC parking lot on West 7th Street. Upon further investigation deputies determined the odor was coming from a shop located behind the old KFC building.

While investigating at the scene, deputies observed two vehicles pull out from behind the shop and drive to the Dodge Store across the street. Deputies stopped the vehicles and obtained a search warrant for the shop. As a result of the search of the shop and the vehicles, deputies found an active meth lab, two tanks of anhydrous ammonia, marijuana, a large quantity of meth, and a firearm.

Deputies then arrested 18-year old Chancelor Averitt, of Herndon, 40-year old Jeffrey Wayne Averitt, of Herndon, and 48-year old Mark Wayne Corby, of Hopkinsville. All three were taken and lodged in the Christian County Jail.
