Farm Bureau Calls For Tax Break For Horse Industry

Officials with Kentucky Farm Bureau are renewing their call for the Kentucky General Assembly to provide an exemption from the state sales tax for products that are used in the horse industry. According to an Associated Press Report, Kentucky Farm Bureau President Mark Haney raised the issue in testimony to the Interim Agriculture Committee on Wednesday. Horse industry supporters have been seeking the tax break for some period of time.

The proposed tax break would included products like feed and fencing. The supporters of the tax break say it would allow horse farmers to invest more in an industry that generated nearly three billion dollars for the state's economy last year.
