Attorneys Fired In Holland Case

After failing to convince a jury that Micah Holland killed his cousin in self-defense, the two Clarksville attorneys, who represented him at trial, are being fired. In Christian Circuit Court Wednesday afternoon, David Rye moved to be removed from the case, effectively removing Fletcher Long and John Herbison as well.

Holland's mother, Lisa Noisworthy, was in the courtroom and after discussion between Rye, Judge Andrew Self and public defender Brandi Jones, with nods from Noisworthy, Judge Self allowed Long and Herbison to be removed.

Holland will have his final sentencing December 18. He was found guilty by a seven man, five woman jury in early November for the fatal shooting of his cousin Joey Weatherwax. Holland shot and ran over Weatherwax with his car September 9th, 2012.
