Hendricks Planning To Run For Mayor

With an announcement that he was leaving the Chamber earlier than expected, Carter Hendricks effectively telegraphed his intentions Wednesday to run for Hopkinsville Mayor. In an interview shortly after the announcement, Hendricks says he has decided to leave the Chamber early to pursue the Mayor's office.

Hendricks says while he is filing as a Republican, he wants to work for the city and not a political party.

He says if elected Mayor he will continue to work on the things that he's been committed to while working at the Chamber.

Hendricks says he looks forward to running a positive campaign for the office.

A run for Mayor was rumored when Hendricks announced his resignation earlier this year. Hendricks resignation was originally effective in March.
