One Dead After Armored Car Accident On I-24

One person is dead, and another was flown from the scene of an accident Wednesday afternoon involving an armored car on Interstate 24 in Christian County. The News Edge spoke with Lt. Jason Newby, of the Kentucky State Police on the scene, near the Kentucky Welcome Center.

The driver of the armored car was killed in the accident, while the passenger, who was riding in the back of the armored car, was flown to Skyline Medical Center, in Nashville. The names of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin. The accident occurred around 2:48pm. Traffic on eastbound I-24 was reported to be backed up as far as seven miles in the immediate aftermath of the crash.
