Country Boy Store Robbery Suspect Pleads Guilty

The man who robbed the Country Boy Store and attacked the owner with a hatchet pled guilty to all of his crimes Wednesday afternoon in Christian Circuit Court. Circuit Judge Andrew Self reviewed William Fields' guilty plea including some additional charges not relating to the Country Boy Store robbery.

Commonwealth's Attorney Lynn Pryor says the criminal abuse charges stem from admissions that Fields gave during interviews after he was arrested.   Pryor says Fields has reserved the right to have a jury for the penalty phase.

The penalty hearing is set for February 28th. On October 31st of 2012 Fields of Cadiz went into the Country Boy Store and attacked the owner Gant Golladay with a hatchet. Golladay suffered serious head injuries but survived. Fields was arrested at the Walmart in Murray a short while later.
