A former 101st Airborne Division Public Affairs Officer says new Commander Brigadier General Gary Volesky will be a perfect fit for the 101st and Fort Campbell. Lt. Colonel Pat Seiber says General Volesky brings quite a bit of operational experience to his new post at Fort Campbell.

Lt. Colonel Seiber says General Volesky will certainly be visible in the communites surrounding Fort Campbell.

The Department of Defense announced Tuesday afternoon that General Volesky will become the new 101st Commander and receive a promotion to Major General. He will replace Major General James McConnville, who just returned from a deployment to Afghanistan with the 101st Command Team.
