Cadiz Police Offering Free Drug Test Kits

The Cadiz Police Department has teamed with the Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force to provide free drug testing kits for parents who may suspect their children are using illegal drugs. The test kits come with full instructions on how to administer them and allows parents to test their children without worries of law enforcement follow-up, arrest, or prosecution. Cadiz Police Chief Chad Grace says the program is not about catching drug offenders. It's about helping families protect their children.

Grace says the tests may not be 100-percent accurate, but they do provide a starting point.

The free kits will be available Monday through Friday from 8am-4pm at the Cadiz Police Department. Grace says people can also call dispatch at other times to request help getting a kit. There is a limited supply of free drug kits, but additional kits may be purchased at a later time if demand is high.
