State transportation officials say a contractor has shifted a work zone on the Interstate 24 Tennessee River Bridge at the 30 mile marker. The eastbound lane and load width restriction has been removed. A lane and load width restriction is now in place for westbound traffic. The lane restriction along I-24, at the Marshall County-Livingston County line for westbound traffic between the 29 and 30 mile marker is to allow deck sealing, joint replacement, and other maintenance work on the bridge deck.
This work zone includes a 9 ft. maximum load width and a 55 mile per hour speed limit. This work zone will occasionally require configuration changes to facilitate ongoing work. Motorists traveling in this area should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach this work zone on the Tennessee River Bridge between Calvert City and Grand Rivers. Oversized loads should detour via KY 453 to US62 between Exit 31 at Grand Rivers and Exit 27 at Calvert City. Intech Contracting is the prime contractor on this $447,000 bridge maintenance project. This westbound work zone is expected to be in place until about mid-May.
