New MLK Principal

There will be a new principal at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School this summer after a decision Wednesday by the school's site based council. The school's Site Based Decision Making Council announced the hiring of Cassandra Spearman to fill the position currently held by Interim Principal Tim McGinnis. Christian County Schools spokesperson Heather Lancaster says it was a unanimous decision to hire Spearman.

Spearman comes to Christian County from Hattiesburg, Mississippi where she currently serves as the Principal at North Forrest Elementary since May of 2012. She previously worked as an elementary school principal in Killeen, Texas and as an assistant principal and teacher before. Her first day at MLK will be in June.
