Senator Humphries Discusses Snow Day Bill

First District State Senator Stan Humprhies, who serves as Vice-Chair of the Senate Education Committee, says he expects action early next week concerning legislation to forgive up to ten days missed this year due to inclement weather. Humphries says this one particular issue that he feels confident the General Assembly will deal with quickly.

Senator Humphries says the legislation will likely not mandate ten days, but will allow up to that number to be forgiven.

Similar legislation passed the Kentucky House of Representative Friday by an 82 to 8 vote. All local school districts are continuing to watch what the Kentucky General Assembly does before planning the remainder of the school calendar.
The school makeup day bill and the budget are among the major topics discussed during the Legislative Update Program that airs Sunday following the Noon News Edge on 96.5 and 100.9 WHVO.
