Coroner Identifies Shooting Victim Found In Oak Grove Field

A Louisiana man whose body was found Sunday night in an Oak Grove field was shot to death. According to information from the Oak Grove Police Department, an autopsy conducted Monday in Louisville determined that 24-year old Michael Joe Parson, of Gonzales, Louisiana, died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. Parson's body was found in a field just off Walter Garrett Lane, after Oak Grove Police had been called out around 6:30pm Sunday to investigate the report of an abandoned vehicle.

The Christian Coroner's Office had originally reported that Parson was from Ohio. However, officials with the Oak Grove Police Department told the News Edge that Parson's drivers license indicated he was from Louisiana. The murder investigation is being conducted by the Oak Grove Police Department, with assistance from the Fort Campbell CID, Kentucky State Police, and the Commonwealth's Attorney's Office
