Saturday Accident Victim Passes Away

Funeral services will be Saturday for the Trigg County man injured last weekend in a single vehicle accident at Arrowhead Carwash. 80-year old Douglas Oliver died Tuesday at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Oliver was injured Saturday morning when he attempted to insert money into the drive-through pay station at the car wash.

Oliver dropped some money on the ground and then opened the door to attempt to pick the money up. As the car began to move, Cadiz Police say Oliver accidentally hit the accelerator, drove through the car wash and eventually hit two concrete poles on the rear side of the wash bay. He was initially taken to Trigg County Hospital, and then later transferred to Vanderbilt.
