Possible Explosives Used In Bank Robbery

Possible explosive devices were used in a bank robbery Monday morning in Hanson. Hopkins County Sheriff Frank Latham says they responded to a bank robbery at the US Bank on US 41.

While they do not know much about the devices left on the scene, Latham says they have no reason to believe they are not explosives.

He says they are continuing to investigate but at this point they do not know if this is a pattern of criminal activity.

US 41 and Kentucky 260 were closed for the majority of the day to allow law enforcement to work. Latham says though Hanson Elementary was nearby it was not within range and was not evacuated but was on lockdown for the day. The FBI, ATF, and Kentucky State Police are assisting in the investigation.
