Sinkhole Repaired On Barkers Mill Road

State transportation projects continue to wrap up around the area this week, including a quick fix to the sinkhole impeding traffic on one south Christian County road. Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says crews worked quickly Wednesday and Thursday to fix the sinkhole that opened up earlier this week on Barkers Mill Road.

Todd says they were pleased to announce Thursday that the renovation to the I-24 interchange ramps at Exit 89, the Pembroke/Oak Grove Exit, were completed.

He says work continues on the median cable barriers on I-24 between the 70 and the 86 mile markers.

Median cable barriers are designed to help stop crossover accidents on the interstate that accounted for 5 of the 13 fatal accidents in the last four years.
