Plane Crash Victim In Fair Condition

A Hopkinsville man remains hospitalized following a plane crash Thursday afternoon on the Pennyrile Parkway. Officials at Skyline Medical Center, in Nashville tell the News Edge Mike Creed is listed in fair condition. Hospital officials say Creed is still in the Intensive Care Unit. Creed and his son Ben, both of Fairfax Drive, were in their single engine 1943 Piper airplane when they experienced technical problems and attempted to land on the Pennyrile Parkway. The plane came to rest hanging in the guard rail and embankment of the northbound lanes in between the Fort Campbell Boulevard exit and the Pembroke Road exit.

Ben Creed spoke with the News Edge Thursday on the scene and he credits his father with landing the plane in a way that saved their lives and the lives of others on the ground.

Ben Creed only suffered minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene.
