Todd County Designated As Manufacturing Community

A manufacturing region that includes Todd County is among two in the eight state area covered by the Delta Regional Authority to be designated as "Manufacturing Communities" through the Investing in Manufacturing Communities Partnership Initiative. Officials say the designation for the Tennessee Valley will help communities strengthen their workforce, infrastructure, and business development efforts. Tennessee Valley includes two Delta Regional Authority counties, Todd County, Kentucky, and Decatur County, Tennessee.

Amy Frogue with Pennyrile Area Development District says Todd County was recognized for this designation because of some strategies they have employed to attract industry.

Frogue says this will make it easier for Todd County when applying for economic development money.

Officials add that later in the year, another round of designations will occur.
