Farm Broadcaster To Run For Ag Commissioner



A farm broadcaster has announced that she intends to run for the Democratic nomination for Kentucky Ag Commissioner in 2015. According to an Associated Press report, Jean-Marie Lawson Spann plans to formally announce her candidacy on Wednesday morning in Frankfort, then follow up with a tour across the state.

The report notes that for the past 10 years Spann has hosted the "Jean-Marie Ag Show," which is a weekly radio program focusing on state and national agriculture news. She is the former secretary of the Kentucky Democratic Party State Central Executive Committee.
