Cadiz Police Investigate Alleged Child Abduction Case

Cadiz Police investigated a report of an alleged attempted child abduction Tuesday. According to a release from the police department, Major Duncan Wiggins was called to West End Street, where he interviewed an 8 year old female who said a woman riding in a blue truck began taking photos and tried to abduct her. Acting on information from the interview and from a separate witness, Major Wiggins was able locate the alleged abductor and a male driver.

It turned out that the two were in the area conducting home inspections, which required them to photograph the homes. Wiggins then conducted a follow-up interview with the alleged victim, and the girl confessed that she had made the incident up.

There will be no criminal charges filed and the investigation has been closed.
