Canola Facility On Track

The new Agstrong Canola processing facility in Todd County is on track to be in operation in October. Robert Davis with Agstrong told the Christian County Agribusiness Association Tuesday that concrete footers are being poured this week.

He says the facility will initially process up to 25,000 acres of the winter crop, with the ability to double the processing capacity. Davis adds the company contracts with farmers in different way than other crops.

Farmer Joseph Sisk said they have consistently raised Canola for three growing seasons. He says the crop is typically rotated in a field with soybeans and wheat following a corn crop.
