Victim identified In Fall At Pilot Rock

State Police say a Hopkinsville man is dead after falling from Pilot Rock, near the Christian County-Todd County line Monday afternoon. According to the report from State Police, which was released late Monday night, 22-year old Alexander Longoria was pronounced dead at the scene by the Todd County Coroner. Emergency personnel were initially called out around 4:00pm to the report of a man falling off the historic landmark, which is located in the 12,000 block of Pilot Rock Road. Todd County Emergency Management Director Tim Pulley told the News Edge on the scene that Longoria was dead when officials arrived.

Pulley said officials are not sure what happened to cause Longoria to fall between the rock formations.

Trooper Ryan Fox is continuing to investigate the incident. The rescue effort was assisted by rescue and emergency officials from Todd County and Christian County, the Allegre and Honey Grove Fire Departments and Hopkinsville EMS.
