Eight Candidates In Cadiz Council Race

Eight candidates are now in the race for the six Cadiz City Council seats that will be on the ballot in November.

Trigg County Clerk Doris McGill says Stephen Blyze and Dale Ezell, who both live on Fairway Trace, filed Tuesday morning along with Shinna Wilson, to run for Cadiz City Council. Tuesday's filings follow Monday's announcement that Reva Anderson, owner of Reva's Restaurant in downtown Cadiz, filed.  Ezell previously served on two terms on Cadiz City Council from 1986 until 1989.

No candidates have filed for two Trigg County Board of Education seats that will be on the ballot. The district one seat, currently held by Sharon Simmons, includes the Canton One, Canton Two and Linton-Maggie precincts. The district three seat, currently held by Laverne Baker, includes North Cadiz One and North Cadiz Two precincts.

Meanwhile John Perry Fourquean for another term on the Trigg County Soil Conservation District Board of Directors.

The deadline to file for any non-partisan office on the ballot in Kentucky is the close of business Tuesday, August 12.
